Remote Testing for Web Applications
3 Person Guide
After session synthesis:
Debrief quickly after and write any top of mind "take aways."
Collaborate with the note taker and go through their notes to write
insights together and make sure you captured all important insights.
Use the transcription from Zoom and copy/paste insights into sticky
notes—one color per interviewee.
A 1 hour session can take 2-4 hours to get all the insights articulated and ready.

Record on testing device using Zoom
Have Zoom already on the testing computer with screen sharing
already set & use Zoom recording to capture the session.

Record on testing device using Zoom
In most cases we're mimicking a mobile device displayed on web by using
a figma mobile prototype —although this will help you gather insights
around content but does not lead to 100% conclusive evidence for mobile
usability because of the product being used on web.
After session synthesis:

Have Zoom already on the testing device with screen sharing
already set & use Zoom recording to capture the session.
Note: Zoom will not capture touch or facial expressions — use LookBack for this.
Using another mobile device to record
You may also use another mobile device to capture the touch points.
Use zoom on the testing device to get the audio transcription.
After session synthesis:
Same as before (use notes & audio transcription)

room but are on muted and will not disturb the session.
After session synthesis:
Same as before (use notes & audio transcription)

Record on the recording device (iphone on tripod)
Have Zoom already on the recording device with others viewing.
Let the interviewee know that there are others watching from another
room but are on muted and will not disturb the session.
Note: Make sure to test everything before conducting interview
